Harry Potter fans everywhere are currently on the edges of their seats (me included!) awaiting some sort of answer from Potter author J.K. Rowling after she posted a very cryptic – and very exciting – riddle to her Twitter page that has us all thinking that she’s hard at working writing a new Harry Potter book (if this is true, I will die of an excitement-induced heart attack right this very second).

Those who love Harry and his friends know that Rowling is great at riddles, and that sometimes you just need to take your eggs into the bath in the prefects’ bathroom and wait for Moaning Myrtle to tell you what to do with it to figure out what she’s trying to say. This time, however, we can’t rely on Harry or Hermione to figure out any of her riddles; we have to rely on ourselves. What are we talking about? Rowling posted this to her Twitter page on Sunday:

“Very busy at the moment working on a novel, tweaking a screenplay and being involved in @lumos campaigns. Back when I’ve finished something!”

We already know she’s working on a screenplay called “Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them,” which is something from her Potter days. It was the mysterious novel no one knew she was working on that got her fans all kinds of excited.

“Cry, foe! Run amok! Fa awry! My wand won’t tolerate this nonsense,” she posted to Twitter on Monday morning after telling an excited fan who asked what novel she’s working on that she was tempted to post a riddle, but wouldn’t since she had to get back to work. We don’t know what it means, but we know what we hope it means. We hope it means Harry, Ron and Hermione are coming back to our imaginations in the form of a new book. We hope (and pray) that this is the truth, and Potter fans everywhere might just agree. Rowling, it seems, is enjoying the mystery, as she then posted, “#helpfulhint The solution is the first sentence of a synopsis of Newt’s story. It isn’t part of the script, but sets the scene,” she said of Newton Scamander, the man who authored the book that’s inspired the trilogy of Rowling’s screenplay.

Please let it be another Harry Potter book. We do miss our favorite wizard.
